Park Won-Ha
Abstract
Recent clinical studies have investigated postural stability characteristics in anterior cruciate ligament deficient knees. The purpose of this study was to assess muscle strength, laxity, Lyshlom knee score in relation to dynamic postural stability in anterior cruciate ligament deficient knees. We examined 40 males patients with ACL injury before surgery. All subjects were evaluated for 1)leg muscle strength using the isokinetic device and 2)anterior translation of the tibia measured by arthrometer KT-2000 and 3)Lysholm knee score. Dynamic postural stability measured to assess standard deviation of the postural sway with one-leg stand. The result showed that significant correlation between the knee muscle strength and Lysholm score dynamic postural stability. But no correlation between the anterior translation of the tibia measured by arthrometer KT-2000 and dynamic postural stability.
